Summer Tours 2011 Norwalk Islands Programs Saturdays and Sundays -- $105 Water safety and basic paddling techniques are discussed before leaving the dock.After launching, we will head down the Norwalk River and into Long Island Sound.Weather permitting, we will stop for lunch and rest breaks out on the islands themselves. New for this season Thursday tours! Arrive at The Small Boat Shop at 9:30AM for check-in and instruction.Tour groups will return to The Shop between 3:30PM and 4:00PM. Thursday Full Day Tours -- $105 Come sneak out on a Thursday Tourfor a mini vacation.Get away from the weekend crowd and enjoy the gentle pace of life on “Island Time” by coming on one of our Thursday Tours.
Calf Pasture Beach Programs The following programs launch from Calf Pasture Beach in East NorwalkFour Hour Tours – Wednesdays -- $85 Offered in conjunction with the Norwalk Recreation & Parks Department, these shorter tours give customers a taste of the Islands without a full-day commitment.Customers should arrive at the Calf Pasture Beachsmall boat launch ramp at no later than 30 minutes prior to launch time.Let the gatekeeper at the park know that you’re with the Rec. & Parks kayaking tour.There will be basic safety instruction before launching.Tours run from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. Youth Group Kayaking Lesson--$595 On summer Wednesdays from 10am-2pm, Youth Group Kayaking is part instruction, part tour, and all fun.We start on Calf Pasture Beach with equipment and pre-launch instruction.From there, we will paddle out to the Norwalk Islands.Along the way, the children will be introduced to basic paddling and kayaking rescue techniques. This fee includes all equipment and instruction for up to six young people and is available by pre-arrangement on Wednesdays.

SPECIAL GROUP TRIPS$1595Get up to twelve of your friends together and arrange a trip to paddle at any of several wonderful locations in Connecticut.We always enjoy paddling in the Mystic Seaport area, Stonington, and the Connecticut River Estuary. We will provide the guides and equipment, and you suggest the location.
The Small Boat Shop will offer 3 tours this summer in conjunction with The Friends of Norwalk Islands whose mission is to conserve, protect and enhance the environmental, recreational, commercial and historical significance of the NorwalkIslands and to build awareness of the National Wildlife Refuge System. Bird Watching Kayak Paddle June 25th 2011 from 9:30am to 5pm A guided Bird watching tour. $105.00 Friends of the Norwalk Islands’ Bird Watching Kayak Paddle, hosted by The Small Boat Shop. Cook-Out Paddle August 21st 2011 10:00 am to 4:00pm Friends of the Norwalk Islands Cook-out Paddle sponsored by The Small Boat Shop. Join the group for a guided paddle to the Norwalk Islands, pull up and enjoy the cook-out. Total fee $105 – $25 donated to the Friends of the Norwalk Islands.
Sunset / Moonrise Paddle Sunset / Moonrise Paddle with the Friends of the Norwalk Islands and The Small Boat Shop. September 12th 20114:30pm to 8pm$105.00 Enjoyable sunset paddle which coincides with the mid autumn festival on the Chinese calendar! If you have never seen the sunset from a kayak or paddled underneath the moon this trip is for you.

Fall Foliage Tour Lake Lillinonah --$110 Oct 15, 22This dammed off stretch of the Housatonic River is nestled between rolling hills in Newtown, CT.There is a good chance of seeing a bald eagle at this time of the year over the Paugussett State Forest or George Waldo Scenic Preserve.
Deep River/Connecticut River Estuary--$110 Oct16, 23Come paddle with us on the beautiful Connecticut River. A designated AMERICAN HERITAGE RIVER, this estuary is a trip you'll long remember. We will start at the charming town landing in Deep River, and pick a fun route based on the tides and the mood of the group. There's always a chance of spotting a bald eagle, and almost every bend in the river has an interesting story associated with it.
