PARENT AND CHILD TOUR JUNE 20 SUNDAY
MYSTIC RIVER JULY 18 AUGUST 15 SUNDAYS
This trip starts near the head of the Mystic River and heads down the river into Fishers Island Sound. We will pass the square rigged sailing ships at Mystic Seaport, historic downtown Mystic, and Masons Island. The route from there depends on the wind and the weather, and this is one of the more vigorous trips that we run.
BARN ISLAND/STONINGTON AUGUST 8 SUNDAY
This will be a fun trip, with a stop over in Stonington for lunch. We will launch at the Barn Island Wildlife area, cross Little Narragannssett Bay, around Sandy Point Island, into beautiful Fishers Island Sound, to Stonington Harbor. We'll stop for lunch at Skipper's Dock Restaurant, and paddle back. Depending on the timing, there may be time to stop on Sandy Point Island and go for a swim. Eat at the restaurant with us, or bring your own lunch and wander the charming streets of Stonington. Price does not include lunch.
DEEP RIVER TOUR AUGUST 29 SUNDAY
Come paddle with us on the beautiful Connecticut River. A designated American Heritage River, this estuary is a trip you'll long remember. We will start at the charming town landing in Deep River, and paddle downstream, past Eustasis and Brockway Islands, to the town of Essex, where we will visit the Connecticut River Museum and gain an appreciation of the tidal Connecticut River. After the visit the rising tide will give us a boost as we paddle upriver back to the launch. There's always a chance of spotting a bald eagle, and almost every bend in the river has an interesting story associated with it. FALL FOLIAGE TOURS
Scheduled for peak leaf color, we will paddle the Farmington River from the town of Farmington, CT to Simsbury, CT. This quiet 9 1/2 mile section wanders through woods, fields, and historic farm land. Enjoy views of Talcott Mountain and Hublein Tower. If you look hard you might see King Philip's Cave high on a ridge above the river. This is a flat water trip with no rapids and no portages.
FARMINGTON RIVER OCTOBER 23, 30 SATURDAYS
LAKE LILLINONAH OCTOBER 17, 24 SUNDAYS
This dammed off stretch of the Housatonic River is nestled between rolling hills in Newtown, CT. There is a good chance of seeing a bald eagle at this time of the year over the Paugussett State Forest of George Ealdo Scenic Preserve.
